Windows 7

As you might know if you follow me on Twitter, I've been able to get my hands on a cracked copy of Windows 7 (which I hastedly picked up). I really was looking forward to testing it all out and replacing my Vista and messing around with the backgrounds and what have you. But let me give you an idea of how long the download is taking.

I have had the whole day off. I was up until 12:02 last night waiting to download it and everything was going well. Seeing the size of the file gave me cancer of the sane mind and seeing how long it took made me feel like how Josef Fritzl's daughter felt when her dad asked her to go to the cellar for some wine. I didn't think that file's could take so long since now. I have downoaded 8 hour long polish films that have taken less time to find, watch, mull over, watch again, translate word-for-word, get a coffee, watch again, burn to dvd, watch in HD, mull over the poor acting, consider the language barrier problems, laugh at the music, watch on iPod, delete off iPod, compare the lengths of two pieces of rope, eat a watermelon (whole) and live 27 years of my life. So if that hasn't given you the clue then here it is...

27 YEARS, 7 MONTHS, 2 WEEKS, 18 HOURS, 56 MINUTES AND 2 SECONDS

Since when did a download take ONE year...let alone 27! I couldn't believe it. I would be 43 by this time, the world would have been taken over by the Mac OSX Leopard which would be so intelligent that it would enslave the human race and have the capability to keep our Supreme Overlord Steve Jobbs alive in a glass jar in a Futurama-esque moment of OS insanity.

So back to the seriousness. I use a 1gb vista home premium dual core pentium whatever which has normally downloaded things very quickly (~10 seconds for a 30 minute programme on iTunes). I don't get why this would take so dang long, especially when I have just taken a load of crap on my system and shoved it into programming hell. I don't thing this has anything to do with my RAM because only 16% is being used at the moment!

Hmm...it's just hit me that I have nothing left to say because of two reasons:
1) Family Guy is about to start
2) I have not got a witty closing line

So have a good week and I'll think of something a bit less computery next week. Also, it's nice to see I've got some e-mails from you ex-subscribers telling me to open Delicious Ron so that I can give them unfiltered lulz again, perhaps I will!

Happy reading - Steve

Posting virginity

Ok, to be fair it isn't Monday, but it is Saturday and that's only a few days away (and this is my first post). I just thought I'd say thanks to everyone who helped with the last blog and sorry it fell through. I'd also like to thank everyone who's reading this and I hope you go and tell people about it.

If you want to make your own blog or if you've got a lot of time on your hands then click on the link to the right to start the proccess. While you're on blogspot, have a look around and see what other people's blogs are like.

Enjoy the ride!
